Synopsis

"Burnish" - a sudden mutation responsible for a vast number of cases of human combustion across the globe, which brings fear and anger to humanity in equal measure. In the wake of attempts to segregate the populace and maintain order, a radical group is born: The Mad Burnish, who seek to escape their oppression and impose themselves upon the world in an unprecedented explosion of terrorist activity.

Thirty years on from the Great World Blaze which resulted from these atrocities, it is left to an anti-Burnish firefighting group known as Burning Rescue to maintain peace and order.
